There are no changes in the order of top publications even as there are changes in readership figures.
Among the top 10 dailies, four publications have witnessed decline.
Dainik Jagran is at the top position with an Average Issue Readership (AIR) of 15,925,000 which is a 2.37 per cent decline from Q1 2010 where it saw a readership of 16,313,000.
At second position is Dainik Bhaskar with an AIR of 13,303,000; a 0.19 per cent decline. In the last round the publication had a readership of 13,329,000.
At third place is Hindi publication Hindustan with a readership of 10,143,000 which is a 2.3 per cent increase in readership. In Q1 2010, the publication saw a readership of 9,914,000.
Malayala Manorama is at number four position with an AIR of 9,841,000. In the last round the publication witnessed a readership of 9,583,000 which means it has gained in readership by 2.69 per cent.
Amar Ujala, has witnessed a readership of 8,417,000 which is a minor 0.87 per cent decline as compared to its last round readership figures which stood at 8,491,000.
Lokmat has seen a 0.55 per cent increase in its readership figures from 7,361,000 in Q1 2010 to 7,402,000 in the current round.
Daily Thanthi, has also witnessed an increase in readership from 7,353,000 to 7,402,000 which is a 0.66 per cent increase.
The Times of India has also seen a growth from 7,035,000 in Q1 2010 to 7,088,000 in this round which is a 0.75 per cent increase in its readership.
Rajasthan Patrika has also shown growth. The publication’s AIR has increased from 6,685,000 in the last round to 6,900,000 in the current round witnessing a 3.21 per cent increase in readership.
Mathrubhumi has witnessed a decline of 1.97 per cent, its readership declining from 6,698,000 in Q1 2010 to 6,566,000 in the current round.
